A polished specimen of Campo del Cielo, or "Field of Heaven" — one of the most storied meteorite falls in recorded history. This iron meteorite struck Earth approximately 4,000 to 5,000 years ago and was first documented by Spanish explorers in 1576. It originated during the formation of our solar system, approximately 4.6 billion years ago.
The specimen displays excellent regmaglypts, the distinctive surface depressions formed during atmospheric entry, which serve as a natural record of its fiery descent.
